Description

A pristine example of essential Vietnam War field gear. This is the 5-Quart Collapsible Canteen, officially designated as a Flotation Bladder, dated to the height of the conflict.

Provenance: Both the nylon cover and the internal bladder match, bearing the contract DSA 100-68-C-2742, dating the item to 1968. Manufactured by Trenton Textile Eng. & Mfg. Co., Inc.
Dual Purpose: As printed on the cover, this item was designed to carry 5 quarts of water or to be inflated with air to serve as a flotation device for river crossings.
Condition: Unissued / New Old Stock. The internal vinyl bladder is soft, pliable, and clear—not brittle or yellowed as often found with used examples. The OD Green nylon cover is clean with crisp black instructional lettering.
