URT-33 Beacon Radio

A rare piece of Special Operations history. The original HT-2A "Village Radio" transceiver. Distributed by the CIA and US Army Special Forces (Green Berets) to CIDG (Civilian Irregular Defense Group) units. Used by local militias to call for support during Viet Cong attacks.

A true unicorn for Green Beret collectors! Up for sale is a genuine and exceptionally rare early "SPECIAL FORCES" tab from the 1950s–1960s. While the official SF tab wasn't authorized until 1983, this piece originates from early experimental runs. It is woven with a teal/light blue background designed to perfectly "color-match" the iconic Special Forces arrowhead patch. This tab features classic vintage construction with a flat "Cut Edge" and a textbook white bobbin "snowy back." Lightly used with an authentic, "been there" patina. You won't find this at an average surplus show!
