Original USMC M1961 M-14 Magazine Pouch | Vietnam Era
Description
The gear the Marines brought to Da Nang.
-
USMC Exclusive: While the Army used the M1956 universal pouches, the Marine Corps adopted the M1961 system. A unique feature of this pouch is the lower flap with a male snap, designed to lock directly into female snaps on the M1961 pistol belt to prevent the pouch from bouncing.
-
Capacity: Tailor-made to perfectly fit one 20-round 7.62x51mm magazine for the M-14 battle rifle.
-
Construction: Made of heavy-duty OD green cotton canvas. The bottom features two drainage grommets that could also be used to hang additional gear using M1910 wire hangers. Features the classic black "US" stamp on the front.
-
"Salty" Condition: These are original, field-used surplus items. The canvas is softly broken-in with fading, wear marks, and worn-down snap finishes. Mechanically sound and bursting with history.
