Original US Army Infantry School "Follow Me" Patch | Subdued / Cut Edge | Vietnam Short Description:
Description
The patch that forged combat leaders.
-
Symbolism: The insignia belongs to the US Army Infantry School at Fort Benning. The bayonet represents the close-combat nature of the infantry, while the motto "FOLLOW ME" is the guiding principle of infantry leadership—leading from the front.
-
Subdued Design: In 1966, the Army introduced this low-visibility version (black embroidery on OD green) to replace full-color patches on combat uniforms.
-
Early Manufacturing (Cut Edge): Featuring a raw, un-merrowed cut edge and the classic white bobbin thread on the reverse. You can also see traces where it was originally sewn onto a jacket.
-
Condition: Lightly used. Shows honest field wear and a beautiful vintage fade, but no damage or heavy fraying.
-
Placement: Worn on the left shoulder by cadre and graduates of the school.
