Original 1st Infantry Division "Big Red One" Patch | Green Back | 1950s-60s
Description
A new era for the Big Red One.
-
Cold War & Vietnam Service: Following WWII, the 1st Infantry Division served primarily in West Germany as a bulwark against the Soviet threat. In 1965, they deployed to Vietnam, becoming one of the first major units to see combat there.
-
Dating the "Green Back": This patch bridges the gap between WWII and the late 60s. It retains the flat un-merrowed edge ("Cut Edge"), but replaces the WWII white bobbin thread with an olive drab thread ("Green Back").
-
Condition: Mint/Unissued. This patch has never been sewn onto a uniform. The colors are incredibly vibrant, and the embroidery is flawless.
