Original US Army Multipurpose Net / Jungle Hammock | Vietnam Era | NOS
Description
Essential gear for staying off the jungle floor.
-
History & Use: Developed under specification MIL-N-43181 specifically for Southeast Asia deployments, this net was truly "multipurpose." While it could be used for camouflage, gear stashing, or trapping, its most legendary use was as a hammock, keeping soldiers elevated above the wet, insect-infested jungle ground.
-
Construction: Woven from thick, rot-resistant Olive Drab green nylon. Unlike canvas or cotton, the nylon mesh would not degrade rapidly in the humid jungle environment.
-
Suspension Ropes: Included with the net are two heavy-duty 14-foot suspension ropes, ready to safely anchor your hammock between trees.
-
Condition: Mint New Old Stock (NOS). The net comes in its original, unopened clear plastic bag clearly showing the Federal Stock Number (FSN).
