Description

A distinctive piece of Vietnam War body armor commonly referred to by GIs as "The Diaper." This constitutes the groin protection component designed to complement the M69 flak vest.

Provenance: The label bears the contract number DSA-100-4677, which typically dates this item to 1966. It features the specific nomenclature: ARMOR, BODY, FRAGMENTATION PROTECTIVE (FOR THE GROIN).
Sizing: The label specifies a dual sizing standard: Size 36 (ARMY) and 44 (NAVY), intended to fit waist sizes accordingly.
Condition: Used surplus condition. Crucially, the heavy-duty front zipper is fully functional and the snap buttons are intact. There is some handwritten personalization ("Size 36 Waist") on the exterior.
