Description

A classic Cold War era patch worn by US troops stationed in Italy.

Unit: SETAF. Based in Italy (Vicenza/Livorno), represented by the Winged Lion of St. Mark, the patron saint of Venice.
Design: The lion holds a book inscribed with "PAX" (Peace) set against red, white, and blue stripes.
Construction: This is the desirable Cut Edge version (pre-1968), distinguished by the khaki twill border, unlike later merrowed edge patches. The reverse shows standard period construction.
Condition: Vintage Used (removed from uniform).
