An authentic mid-century vintage hunting/utility knife by the legendary Ka-Bar brand (Olean, N.Y.). This 1940s commercial model features a 6-inch polished blade, a stacked leather handle with distinct brown plastic spacers, and its original leather scabbard. Knives like this were popular private purchase items for GIs during WWII. Honest field-used condition.

A beautiful piece of American cutlery history.

  • The Blade: The 6-inch blade is clearly stamped "KA-BAR / OLEAN, N.Y." on the ricasso. The steel has a highly polished finish showing honest signs of age, use, and previous sharpening.

  • The Handle: Constructed from classic stacked leather washers. It features two period-correct brown plastic/bakelite spacers just below the crossguard. The metal pommel is securely pinned in place.

  • The Scabbard: Includes the original, dark brown stitched and riveted leather sheath with a functional retaining snap.

  • Condition: Vintage used. The handle is tight, and the knife remains a solid, functional piece with great character.
