Rare early Vietnam War "Lightweight Rucksack" (P64). Dated 1964. Fully complete with welded frame, cargo shelf, waist belt, and instruction sheet. Very good condition with one small 1cm tear on a pocket.

A centerpiece for any Vietnam War collection. This is an original 1st Pattern Lightweight Rucksack (P64), fully kitted out with hard-to-find accessories.

  • Configuration: Features the early-war welded aluminum tube frame (distinct from the later riveted P68 frames). The nylon pack is dated to the 1964 contract (DSA-1-3858-64-E).

  • Complete Set: Unlike most surplus finds, this rucksack includes the detachable Cargo Shelf for radios/ammo and the original Waist Strap.

  • Documentation: The original paper instruction sheet is still present inside the main flap.

  • Condition: The pack is in very good vintage condition. The nylon is strong and the metal has authentic patina. Note: There is a minor 1cm tear on the side of one external pocket.
