Original Republic of Vietnam Air Force (VNAF) Patch | Woven | Used
Description
The golden dragon of South Vietnam, bearing honest wear.
-
Era & Usage: The VNAF was the aerial branch of the South Vietnamese military. This patch was proudly worn by South Vietnamese pilots and ground crews, as well as by American military advisors who wore it as a sign of solidarity with their local counterparts.
-
Symbology: The central motif is a stylized Asian dragon rising above waves. The dragon's wing incorporates the flag of South Vietnam (three red stripes on a yellow field). The bottom scroll reads the Air Force motto: "TỔ QUỐC KHÔNG GIAN".
-
Woven Construction: Unlike standard embroidered patches, this item was produced using a machine-weaving process. This technique was very popular during the Vietnam War (often contracted to factories in Japan or Taiwan) because it allowed for much finer resolution in the design and a flatter, less bulky patch.
-
Condition: Used Military Surplus (Uniform Removed). This patch has seen active duty. The raw "cut-edge" borders are folded under and creased from its time sewn onto a flight suit or jungle fatigue jacket, giving it that perfect, authentic combat-worn look.
