Original US Army M-1956 Entrenching Tool Carrier | 1962 Dated | Vietnam Era
Description
The cornerstone of jungle survival gear.
-
M-1956 System: Designed to carry the standard US folding entrenching tool (such as the M-1943 or M-1951 patterns). It attaches to the rear of the pistol belt using two metal slide clips (keepers) on the back.
-
Bayonet Attachment: The front features a web loop and two leather-reinforced tabs designed to securely hold a bayonet scabbard (like the M8A1) using its M1910 wire hanger.
-
Early 1962 Date: The back features a crisp and highly legible stamp reading "CARRIER, INTRENCHING TOOL", the FSN, and a contract line ending in "E-62", firmly dating this cover to the early advisory phase of the Vietnam War.
-
Condition: Quite nice, used condition. The heavy OD green cotton canvas is strong with good color retention. Minor wear on the leather and typical oxidation on the snap provide a perfect authentic combat patina.
