Original US Army M-1956 Suspenders (1st Pattern) | Regular | 1959 NOS
Description
The backbone of the early Vietnam War infantry loadout.
-
History of the M-1956 LCE: The M-1956 system replaced the aging WWII and Korean War canvas web gear. It was the standard issue load-bearing equipment for US troops during the early to mid-Vietnam War before the introduction of nylon M-67 and ALICE gear.
-
1st Pattern Construction: These suspenders feature the classic "H-back" configuration. They are constructed from heavy-duty Olive Drab cotton duck canvas. The 1st Pattern is characterized by the unpadded shoulders and early-style metal hardware.
-
Incredible Dating: The underside of the shoulder strap features a perfectly legible factory ink stamp showing the contract information and a production date of 9/18/59 (September 18, 1959). Ink stamps on canvas gear usually washed or sweated out quickly in the jungle, making this pristine marking a rare find.
-
Condition: Absolute mint New Old Stock (NOS). The fabric is stiff and unused. The blackened metal hooks and adjustment sliders show zero wear or corrosion.
