Original US Army Ammo Can (7.62mm / M60) | 1968 Dated | Vietnam War
Description
Heavy metal history with a story to tell.
-
Era & Usage: The M19A1 ammo can is an American icon. This specific can was packed during the height of the Vietnam War in 1968, destined for infantry squads armed with "The Pig" (M60) or armor crews with the M73 coaxial machine gun.
-
Original Stencils: The yellow markings on this can are exceptionally crisp. It reads "200 CARTRIDGES 7.62MM, M13" and denotes the combat load: "1 M62 - 4 M80" (1 Tracer to 4 Ball rounds). The "TW 68" lot codes confirm 1968 production at the Twin Cities plant. The lid proudly states "FOR M. G. M60-M73".
-
Construction & Condition: Built from rugged steel with a removable lid and a heavy-duty latch. The rubber gasket is still present to keep moisture out. It shows honest field wear, scratches, and minor dents—the perfect "salty" look without being rusted out.
