Description

A scarce piece of insignia for the Air Cavalry collector. This flash belongs to the 2/17th Cavalry, the reconnaissance squadron for the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War.

Construction: This is the early style with a non-merrowed / thin border. Later issues feature a thick, heavy merrowed edge.
Authenticity: The reverse side displays the correct white bobbin thread ("Snowy Back"), a hallmark of period US-made insignia.
Condition: Mint / Unissued condition, ready for display or a vintage beret restoration.
