This is a classic example of "Private Purchase" (or PX) gear popular with US troops during the 1990s and early GWOT deployments when official desert gear was scarce. It features the standard design with a synthetic fleece lining and a front water purification tablet pocket. Includes two metal ALICE clips for belt attachment. Mint, unissued New Old Stock (NOS) condition.

The private purchase hydration gear of choice for the desert.

"Private Purchase" History: During the Gulf War and early OEF/OIF, standard issue desert camo gear was often in short supply. Troops spent their own money at the PX on commercial gear like this. Today, this "Old Gen" commercial tactical gear is highly sought after by collectors and reenactors.
Construction & Cooling: Made of durable Tan nylon. The interior is lined with synthetic fleece/faux-fur. When soaked with water, this lining utilizes evaporative cooling to keep the canteen's contents cool in hot environments. Features a drainage grommet at the bottom.
Details: The front retains the classic small hook-and-loop pocket designed to hold a bottle of water purification tablets. The top flaps secure with two heavy-duty metal snaps.
Attachment: The rear features ALICE webbing with two included black metal ALICE clips for secure attachment to a pistol belt.
