A pristine artifact from the Great War: The original US Model 1917 "Doughboy" Helmet. Issued to the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) in France. Distinguished from later models by its oilcloth/oilskin liner and leather chinstrap. Finding an M1917 with intact leather and liner after more than a century is difficult.
