US Army M7 Gas Mask Bag | Rubberized | WWII D-Day Era | Original
Description
We are offering a quintessential piece of WWII amphibious assault gear: The M7 Gas Mask Bag. Developed to replace canvas carriers that became heavy when wet, this rubberized bag was standard issue for troops during the Normandy Landings (D-Day) and other amphibious operations.
This specific example is in very good condition. Crucially, the rubberized fabric remains soft and pliable, avoiding the cracking and brittleness often seen in surplus of this age. The yellow stencil featuring the Chemical Warfare Serviceinsignia and the text "ARMY COMBAT SERVICE GAS MASK" is crisp. All three lift-the-dot snaps are present and functional (not pulled through). There are some minor rust stains on the bag and canvas straps, adding to its honest vintage character.
