A classic piece of "Old Salt" USN field gear.

  • The Blade: Stamped "U S N" on one side of the ricasso and "MARK 1 / COLONIAL" on the obverse. The clip-point blade shows clear evidence of active period use and sharpening, and has developed a dark, even patina.

  • The Handle: Rather than traditional stacked leather, this Colonial variant utilizes a molded black Tenite (cellulose acetate) grooved handle. This material was introduced to withstand the harsh, humid conditions of the Pacific without rotting.

  • The Scabbard: Includes the correct mid-to-late war NORD fiberglass scabbard produced by Beckwith Mfg. Co. (BM Co.). The canvas belt loop and snap retention strap are intact and functional.

  • Condition: "Salty" but solid. No cracks in the plastic handle. A great display piece for any WWII Pacific campaign collection.
