Original US M-1943 Entrenching Tool Carrier | WWII / USMC Vietnam
Description
Classic canvas built to last.
-
History & Use: Introduced during WWII alongside the new folding shovel. The USMC heavily favored this specific carrier pattern, taking it into combat during the early and mid-years of the Vietnam War.
-
Construction: Made of heavy-duty OD cotton canvas. Unlike the later M-1956 carrier (which used ALICE slide clips), the M-1943 uses the traditional M-1910 wire hanger to attach to the grommets on a pistol belt or pack.
-
"Salty" Condition: Used, but in very nice shape. The canvas is naturally faded, and the metal hardware (snap, hanger) shows typical oxidation, giving it a great "been there" combat look. No rips or tears.
-
Markings: The front prominently displays the "U.S." stamp. Under the flap, there are faint remains of the original manufacturer's stamp (likely dating to 1944/45), barely legible but present.
