Original WWII 1st Infantry Division "Big Red One" Patch | Cut Edge
Description
The "One" that made history.
-
Unit History: The 1st Infantry Division is the oldest continuously serving division in the US Army. During WWII, they spearheaded some of the toughest campaigns, including North Africa, Sicily, the brutal D-Day landings at Omaha Beach, the Hürtgen Forest, and the Battle of the Bulge.
-
Design: The patch features a striking, minimalist design: a large red numeral "1" centered on an Olive Drab shield.
-
WWII Construction: This piece exhibits all the hallmarks of 1940s production. It is fully machine-embroidered, features an un-merrowed flat "Cut Edge," and the reverse displays the classic white return thread, commonly referred to by collectors as a "snowy back".
-
Condition: Lightly used. The patch has a soft, authentic feel with slightly frayed edges typical of uniform removal, but no damage to the embroidery itself.
