Original WWII M1 Fixed Bale Helmet (94th Inf. Div.) | Czech "Barn Find"
Description
Steel that witnessed the end of the war in Europe.
-
The Steel Pot: Desirable early configuration with Fixed Bales. Close-ups confirm the authentic, untouched factory welds on the bales. The original coarse cork texture and early-style chinstrap hardware are well-preserved.
-
Painted Insignia: The front features a period, hand-painted 94th Infantry Division patch.
-
The Liner (Seaman): The inside dome clearly displays the "S" maker mark, confirming it was made by the Seaman Paper Company. It features OD#3 webbing, darkened "A-washers," and retains the original leather sweatband.
-
Authentic Condition: The liner shows a crack on the side, a completely natural sign of aging and temperature changes for high-pressure liners stored in a barn for 80 years.
-
The Vimperk Provenance: The 94th Infantry Division was moved to the Vimperk region of Czechoslovakia in mid-1945 for occupation duties. This helmet was left behind by a GI and remained there until recently.
