Original WWII PAL RH-36 Combat Knife | Top Condition
Description
Classic American steel with rich wartime history.
-
RH-36 History: In 1939, PAL Cutlery purchased Remington's knife division and continued producing their robust hunting knives. The RH-36 became highly sought after by US servicemen during WWII, seeing extensive use as both an issued item and a private purchase combat/utility knife.
-
Markings: The blade ricasso is clearly stamped with the oval maker's mark reading "RH PAL 36" and "MADE IN U.S.A.".
-
Construction & Blade: Features a 6-inch blade with a pronounced blood groove (fuller). The blade has not been abused or improperly sharpened, retaining a beautiful dark factory-style finish.
-
Handle: Constructed from stacked leather washers with classic red and black spacers at the guard and pommel. The heavy aluminum pommel is securely pinned. The leather has dried slightly over the past 80 years, causing minor play in the washers—a very common and accepted characteristic of authentic vintage knives.
-
Scabbard: Comes with its original dark brown leather sheath, featuring edge rivets and a fully functional snap-button retaining strap.
