Step back to 1945 with this pristine piece of GI gear.

  • Authenticity: This is a 100% genuine US Army issue item from the end of World War II. It is not a reproduction.

  • Construction: The hood is crafted from heavy-duty Olive Drab cotton satin. It features a detailed closure system with buttons and loops to fasten under the chin. It attaches to the M-1943 jacket via a series of buttons along the collar and shoulders. The bottom edge includes a drawstring for a secure fit.

  • Insignia and Labels: The hood retains two perfectly preserved cloth labels.

    • Instruction Label: An illustrated label with detailed diagrams and text explaining how to attach and wear the hood ("The hood should be worn under the steel helmet.").

    • Identification Label: Contains complete military specifications: "HOODS, JACKET, FIELD, M-1943", Stock Number, Size "LARGE", Manufacturer "SUPERIOR TOGS CO., INC.", Contract Date "April 28, 1945", and Depot "Phila. Q.M. Depot".

  • Condition: The item is in "New Old Stock" (NOS) condition. It was manufactured during the war, put into storage, and never issued. The fabric is crisp, the color is deep, and it is free of stains, holes, odors, or moth damage. Buttons and strings are original and functional. The labels are undamaged and fully legible. There is a small hand-written mark "L" (44-46) on the fabric from the army depot, confirming its authenticity.
