German WWII Gas Mask Canister (1944) | Wehrmacht | Web Straps | Late War
Description
We are offering a genuine piece of late WWII equipment: A German Wehrmacht Gas Mask Canister (Gasmaskenbüchse M38) produced in 1944. This is the standard "long" model with vertical fluting for added strength.
This item is a textbook example of "Late War" manufacturing. Due to leather shortages in 1944, this canister was issued with canvas web straps (Webbing) instead of leather. The straps are original to the can and feature steel hardware. The canister retains a significant amount of its original field gray/dark green paint and shows authentic combat patina. The spring-loaded latch works perfectly. A must-have for late-war displays (Normandy/Battle of the Bulge era).
