The rarest standard-issue configuration of the US M1 Helmet: A McCord Fixed Bale shell paired with a genuine Hawley "Paper" Fiber Liner. This liner features the ultra-rare Rayon suspension (artificial silk), used only during the earliest stage of the war. The steel shell is stamped 370D, dating it to approximately mid-1942.

The Hawley Liner: Made of compressed fiber. Due to their fragility, very few survived. This example shows the expected chipping and wear on the rim, consistent with an original 80-year-old paper artifact.
Rayon Webbing: Distinguished by its white/silver sheen and specific weave pattern, distinct from later cotton OD webbing.
The Shell: McCord Radiator Co., Front Seam, Fixed Bale.
Condition: Shell is solid. Liner displays honest age-related damage typical for Hawley models.
