Original LINCLOE M16 Magazine Pouch | Pre-ALICE 1971 | NOS
Description
A Holy Grail for late-Vietnam and Cold War gear collectors.
-
The LINCLOE Program: Before the legendary ALICE system took over, the military developed the LINCLOE (Lightweight Individual Clothing & Equipment) program. This pouch is the direct result of that 1971 initiative, making it a crucial piece of gear evolution.
-
Unique Internal Flaps: The defining feature of this rare pouch is inside. Unlike standard LC-1 pouches, the LINCLOE version has three individual internal straps/flaps. Designed to secure remaining magazines when one was removed, it proved too slow in combat and was quickly discontinued, making these surviving pouches highly sought after.
-
Historical Significance: These pouches saw action at the very end of the Vietnam War. They are heavily documented being worn by USMC personnel during the evacuation of the US Embassy in Saigon in April 1975 (Operation Frequent Wind).
-
Construction: Made of OD Green nylon. It features the classic side grenade pockets, an early-style plastic clasp, and a rear eyelet for suspenders. Mounts via two included steel ALICE clips.
-
Condition: New Old Stock (NOS). Unissued and unused. Shows minor signs of long-term storage. The black ink nomenclature stamps on the nylon are typically faded/faint due to age, which is standard for this era.
