Original US Regulation Field Bugle | USMC Vietnam Veteran Estate
Description
A piece of history that played Reveille and Taps.
-
History & Provenance: Based on the classic M1892 pattern, this style of bugle was standard issue for decades. This instrument comes with a great story, having been acquired from the personal estate of a USMC veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
-
Markings: The top of the bell flare features a deep, clear engraving:
U.S. REGULATIONoverMADE IN U.S.A., denoting an instrument built to military specifications. -
Condition & Material: Crafted from solid brass, the bugle shows an incredible "salty" patina. The brass has naturally tarnished over time, displaying character scratches and spots of green verdigris. The body is structurally sound with no major dents.
-
Missing Mouthpiece: Please be aware that the removable mouthpiece is missing. However, the original retaining chain, which would have held the mouthpiece to the bugle body, is still attached to the mounting ring.
