Original US Army A2CU Flight Jacket (Nomex) | TF Palerider (OEF 12-13) | Apache Pilot
Description
The authentic uniform of an elite attack helicopter pilot.
-
Combat History (TF Palerider): The crown jewel of this jacket is the large patch on the right chest. It belonged to B Company, 2nd Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment (Attack Reconnaissance Battalion). This unit operated AH-64 Apache attack helicopters in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) in 2012–2013 under the callsign "Task Force Palerider." The patch depicts the Grim Reaper riding a horse alongside the silhouette of an Apache.
-
Pilot & Insignia: The jacket is named to ALEXANDER. The collar bears the sewn-on rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2) and the Aviation branch insignia. Proudly displayed above the "U.S. ARMY" tape is the prestigious "Master Army Aviator" badge (a star with a wreath above the wings), indicating a highly decorated pilot with over 15 years of aviation service or thousands of flight hours. A full-color reversed US flag is worn on the right shoulder.
-
A2CU Material: This is the standard Army Aircrew Combat Uniform (A2CU) coat, manufactured from a fire-resistant blend of 95% Meta-Aramid and 5% Para-Aramid (commercially known as Nomex) by DJ Manufacturing Corp. The "Tan 380" color was standard issue for Middle Eastern desert deployments.
-
Condition & Size: Size Large-Long fits a height of 71 to 75 inches (approx. 180–190 cm) and a chest of 41 to 45 inches (approx. 104–114 cm). The jacket is lightly worn, showing an honest, authentic patina from active flight duty, but is in perfect structural condition with no rips, holes, or fraying.
