Rare LBT-2286 Prototype USMC Helmet Cover | Marpat w/ AOR2 Trim | White Tag Test Sample
Description
A "Holy Grail" item for the high-end gear collector (NSW / USMC). This is an Experimental / Test Sample of the legendary LBT-2286 Reversible Helmet Cover. This specific configuration likely never left the factory floor for retail distribution.
-
Model: LBT-2286 (Standard Reversible Cover). Designed to fit MICH / ACH / LWH helmets.
-
Prototype Status: Produced by London Bridge Trading in Virginia Beach. The cover features a sewn-on plain white fabric tag. In the LBT collector community, this is the definitive sign of a pre-production sample, factory test, or "shop-made" item.
-
Unique Construction: While the main body is standard USMC Marpat (reversible), the edge binding (trim) is made from AOR2 / NWU Type III material. This odd "cross-branch" mix (Marine camo body with Navy SEAL trim) suggests LBT was testing the 2286 pattern for a Marine contract but utilized available scrap material intended for NSW contracts.
-
Condition: The cover is in Mint / Collector condition. Velcro is clean, and colors are vibrant.
