An exotic piece of Asian Cold War history! Up for sale is a genuine Republic of Korea (ROK) Army combat shirt from the 1970s–1980s era. This shirt features the highly sought-after, distinctive camouflage pattern affectionately known by collectors as "Noodle" or "Wave" camo, heavily used by ROK Special Forces and Marines. It boasts an original embroidered Korean name tape and an iconic sleeve pocket with a heavy metal zipper. Estimated size is Small. Lightly used, in very nice condition with no damage.

  • History & Pattern: The South Korean (ROK) military was a massive force during the Cold War. Evolving from the Tiger Stripe patterns their troops wore in Vietnam, Korea developed this unique, rounded, wavy pattern ("Noodle/Wave" camo). It became the signature look for ROK elite units (Special Forces and Marines) throughout the 70s and 80s.

  • Construction Details: The shirt features a 4-pocket design with shoulder epaulettes. A standout feature—rarely seen on US uniforms—is the small utility pocket on the left sleeve, secured by a prominent, vertical metal zipper.

  • Original Insignia: Above the right chest pocket sits the original name tape, embroidered directly into the fabric with gold thread in Korean Hangul script, adding undeniable provenance and character to the piece.
