Dutch Army (KL) Shovel Cover | Canvas M43 Style | Wire Hook | Cold War Surplus
Description
Often mistaken for the US WWII version, this is the robust Dutch Army (KL) shovel carrier. Produced during the Cold War (1950s-1980s), it follows the design of the famous American M-1943 carrier but with distinct Dutch characteristics. The most notable difference is the heavy-duty press stud closure (often with a brass/copper center) instead of the US directional Lift-the-Dot fastener. The canvas is extremely thick and durable "heavy duck" material. The back features the standard M-1910 style wire hook, making it fully compatible with US pistol belts and ALICE gear. Look for "KL" (Koninklijke Landmacht) ink stamps on the back or inside. An excellent, rugged piece of gear for outdoor use or reenactment on a budget.
