Rare 1956 Bundeswehr Splittertarn Combat Jacket | US LRRP / OPFOR | Chest 128cm (50")
Description
A Holy Grail item for Cold War collectors and LRRP reenactors.
-
History: The early BW splinter camo was notoriously short-lived (cancelled around 1957/58) because its visual similarity to WWII Wehrmacht patterns caused political discomfort.
-
Features: Four-pocket design utilizing heavy-duty metal snaps. The interior features original drawstrings and lining.
-
Condition ("Salty"): This jacket has seen genuine field use. It features several meticulous period field repairs/patches on the lower pockets and sides. The main zipper is completely undamaged but is stiff to operate. Minor fraying on the cuffs.
-
Sizing: An incredibly rare wearable size for this era. The ~128cm (50.4 inches) chest easily accommodates a modern XL/XXL.
