Rare Early Bundeswehr Hood | Splittertarn Camo | Unissued NOS
Description
A vibrant piece of early post-war military history.
-
The Splittertarn Camo: Introduced in the mid-1950s when the Bundeswehr was formed, this splinter pattern heavily echoed WWII designs. Due to political sensitivities and changing doctrines, it was quickly phased out by the early 1960s in favor of solid olive green, making these items highly coveted today.
-
Design Details: This hood was designed to button/snap onto the collar of the early Bundeswehr combat parka using the heavy-duty metal snaps along the bottom edge. It features an adjustable face opening with a drawstring and brass-grommeted ventilation holes near the ears.
-
Construction: Made of sturdy cotton canvas with a soft, solid green inner lining.
-
Condition: Perfect New Old Stock (NOS). Unissued and unworn. The colors are incredibly crisp, showing absolutely no fading or field wear.
