The essential piece of kit for any Vietnam "Grunt" impression. This is a faithful reproduction cover for the 5-Quart Collapsible Canteen / Flotation Bladder. Designed to carry extra water for long-range patrols, the original bladders could also be inflated to assist in river crossings. This repro cover features crisp, screen-printed graphics on both sides, detailing how to fill the canteen from a stream and how to use it for flotation. It bears the period-correct contract marking DSA100-68-C-2742. Includes corner tie strings for attaching to a rucksack and a small pocket for water purification tablets. Perfect for field use where you don't want to soil an original.
