Up for sale is a museum-grade piece of modern military history: a pair of original 1st Generation US Army Desert Combat Boots, widely known among collectors and veterans as the "Schwarzkopf Boots." When US troops deployed to Saudi Arabia in August 1990, their standard black leather boots proved disastrous in the extreme heat. General Norman Schwarzkopf personally pushed for the rapid development of a breathable desert boot. This was the result. This specific pair is a highly sought-after early production run, bearing the manufacture date of 11-90 (November 1990)—putting them right at the massive build-up phase just before the ground war began. The boots are in breathtaking, unissued condition (New Old Stock / Deadstock). They feature the classic tan rough-out suede leather and nylon Cordura upper, speed lacing system, and the iconic Panama sole designed to clear mud and sand. A true time capsule from the Gulf War in a very wearable and sought-after size 11 Regular.
