Unique Hand-Forged Matched Knife Set | Hamon Utsuri & Praga V3S | Mirror Composition
Description
We bring you an absolute crown jewel of knife making—a mirror set of two paired knives created to be worn in tandem. Both knives share identical massive proportions (overall length 260 mm, blade 137 mm, spine 5 mm) and an uncompromising, nearly indestructible pinned and peened through-tang construction. Yet, each knife possesses its own unique soul and story. The first knife is forged from 19191 carbon tool steel, featuring a masterful differential heat treatment that produced a rare Hamon Utsuri. This gives the edge an extreme hardness of 61-62 HRC while keeping the spine tough. The handle is crafted from elegant walnut wood, and the knife is housed in a heavy-duty right-handedsheath. The second knife is reborn history. Its blade is forged from a leaf spring (14260 steel) of the legendary Czechoslovak Praga V3S military truck. Steel that served in the harshest conditions has been given a new purpose. The blade has a classic hamon and a hardness of 57-58 HRC. The handle is made of durable applewood, and the knife comes with a mirrored left-handed sheath. The edges of both knives are precisely diamond-sharpened to 24 degrees. The guards and pommels are made of hammered, fire-patinated steel. Note: These are high-carbon, "living steel" blades. They will develop a beautiful authentic patina over time and require occasional oiling.
