Unit History: UDT-21 had a storied history, conducting beach recon, demolition, and supporting amphibious landings. They operated heavily during the Cold War. When the UDTs were dissolved in 1983 to form fully capable Special Warfare teams, the men of UDT-21 became the founding members of SEAL Team 4.
