This specific colorway—dark green embroidery on a red felt background—was designated exclusively for the winter wool Service "A" (Alpha) uniform. Featuring the older "cut edge" manufacturing style typical of the Korean War and early Vietnam War era (1950s-1960s). Unissued New Old Stock condition. Cold War era Marine Corps history.

  • Usage: Within the USMC uniform regulations, the "Green on Red" combination was strictly worn on the dark green coat of the winter Service "A" uniform.

  • Design: The Private First Class (PFC / E-2) rank is a single chevron. Bold, dark green threading is embroidered onto a bright red base.

  • Construction & Dating: Unlike modern merrowed (overlocked) patches, these feature the classic "cut edge" border and reverse stitching characteristic of mid-century US military manufacturing (1950s-1960s).

  • Condition: Unissued Military Surplus (New Old Stock). Never sewn on. Due to the cut-edge manufacturing and decades of storage, there may be very minor fraying at the extreme tips, which is completely natural for patches of this age.
