Original USMC PFC Sleeve Rank Insignia (Pair) | Green on Red | 1950s-60s
Description
Cold War era Marine Corps history.
-
Usage: Within the USMC uniform regulations, the "Green on Red" combination was strictly worn on the dark green coat of the winter Service "A" uniform.
-
Design: The Private First Class (PFC / E-2) rank is a single chevron. Bold, dark green threading is embroidered onto a bright red base.
-
Construction & Dating: Unlike modern merrowed (overlocked) patches, these feature the classic "cut edge" border and reverse stitching characteristic of mid-century US military manufacturing (1950s-1960s).
-
Condition: Unissued Military Surplus (New Old Stock). Never sewn on. Due to the cut-edge manufacturing and decades of storage, there may be very minor fraying at the extreme tips, which is completely natural for patches of this age.
