The period-correct detail for your post-Vietnam build! Up for sale is a genuine US Army branch tape in the tactical subdued colorway. Unlike the later cotton twill versions, this early 1970s variant features black embroidery directly onto a coarse woven nylon webbing background. This tape has seen real field use; it was removed from a decommissioned uniform and displays a fantastic, authentic patina. Perfect for restoring Jungle Fatigues, OG-107s, or early M-65 field jackets.

The rugged nylon texture of the 1970s US Army.

  • Era & Usage: When the US Army transitioned to subdued insignia during the Vietnam War, they utilized various backing materials. These coarse nylon web tapes are highly characteristic of the early-to-mid 1970s, predating the smoother twill tapes that became standard in the 1980s.

  • Construction: Black embroidered "U.S. ARMY" text on an Olive Drab woven nylon strap.

  • Condition: Used Military Surplus (Uniform Removed). This is a "salty" piece. It was carefully detached from its original garment, leaving frayed edges. The embroidered lettering shows honest wear, with a few loose or missing threads in the characters. The reverse clearly shows the folds from where it was previously sewn.
