For sale is a rugged piece of American industrial and military history: the Stewart R. Browne Model F-81 Safety Flashlight. Designed for hazardous environments, this flashlight was approved by the U.S. Bureau of Mines for safety in methane and air mixtures (Class 1, Group D), making it a favorite for mining and naval use during the WWII era.Features:

  • Construction: Heavy ribbed body made of "Tuffite", a durable bakelite-type material.

  • Details: Beautifully preserved brass data plate riveted to the body, and a folding metal hanger ring.

  • Internals: Retains the internal battery spring and copper switch contacts inside the cap. Condition: Aesthetically in excellent vintage condition with no visible cracks in the Tuffite. Functionality is untested; sold as-is for display or restoration.
