Original US ALICE LC-1 Waist Strap (Two-Piece Type) | Unissued NOS

A crucial detail for serious US gear collectors! Up for sale is an original, unissued US Army waist strap (webbing only) designed for the first-generation ALICE pack frame (LC-1). This specific early model is highly sought after because its attachment method is a direct carryover from the Vietnam-era Lightweight Rucksacks. The strap consists of two halves; each half threads through the side loops of the ALICE frame and secures back onto itself using metal rings and a snap fastener. Contract dated 1981, perfectly unissued (NOS).

The distinguishing feature of early Cold War load-bearing gear.

  • The LC-1 Attachment System: Unlike later LC-2 straps that used simple friction buckles to attach to the frame, this LC-1 strap employs a two-piece design. The ends thread through the bottom side loops of the aluminum frame, fold back, and are locked in place by a heavy-duty snap fastener and routing rings.

  • Vietnam Heritage: This specific snap-to-frame attachment mechanism is functionally identical to the waist straps issued with the late-war Tropical Lightweight Rucksacks.

  • Front Buckle: Secures around the operator's waist using the classic black metal quick-release friction buckle.

  • Condition & Stamping: Perfect New Old Stock (unissued). The webbing features crisp black ink stamping: "STRAP WAIST WEB, LC-1" along with the DLA contract "DLA100-81-C-3230", dating it to 1981.
