A hard-to-find patch from a short-lived Intruder squadron.

  • History: VA-185 was established in 1986 and disestablished in August 1991, immediately following their combat deployment in Operation Desert Storm. This short lifespan makes their insignia scarce.

  • Construction: Features a Cut Edge border and a snowy back. This construction is highly characteristic of Japanese-made patches procured by sailors stationed at Yokosuka (home of the USS Midway).

  • Design: The "Nighthawk" (owl) striking through the rain, symbolizing the All-Weather capability of the A-6 Intruder.

Technical Specs:

  • Squadron: VA-185

  • Carrier: USS Midway (CV-41)

  • Conflict: Gulf War (1991)

  • Style: Cut Edge / Theater Made style

  • Condition: Mint.
