1Qt Canteen with NBC Cap (100% Intact): This classic plastic canteen (stamped U.S. 1970 M.W. INC.) is fitted with a black M1 cap featuring a valve for drinking through a protective mask (like the M17). The massive value here is that the original flexible plastic retaining strap connecting the cap to the neck is fully intact and undamaged. This makes the canteen a premium collector's item.
Transitional M-1967 Cover: The nylon cover is marked "COVER WATER CANTEEN M-1967" but was manufactured in 1972 (DSA 100-72-C-1281 contract by C&S Enterprises Inc.). It is a "missing link" in gear evolution, replacing the fragile plastic snaps of earlier M-1967 covers with reliable metal snaps, a step towards the future ALICE LC-1 standard.
Cover Details: Constructed from durable nylon, includes the classic side pocket for water purification tablets, rear ALICE clips for belt attachment, and a felt lining.
