USGI 6-Color Desert Boonie Hat | Chocolate Chip | Rare 1983 Date | Size 7 1/8
Description
A piece of Cold War history from the Rapid Deployment Force era. While the 6-Color Desert (DBDU) pattern is famous for the 1991 Gulf War, this specific hat is a rare early production model.
-
Provenance: The contract number DLA100-83-C-0552 clearly dates this hat to 1983. Early 80s desert gear is significantly harder to find than 90s surplus.
-
Pattern: The classic "Cookie Dough" or "Chocolate Chip" pattern, featuring black rock textures over a desert background.
-
Size: Marked 7 1/8, which fits a head circumference of approximately 57 cm.
-
Condition: Used / Very Good. The colors remain vibrant with minimal fading. The brim retains its shape and there is no damage to the vents or fabric.
